Pranayam

     Pranayama is combination of two words 'Prana' and 'Ayama'. Prana means Breath and Ayama means extent

 🫁   Prana is the vital energy requires for coordination of each organ within a body the continuous flow of prana in the subtle nerves ( Nadi)  in the body is important for a person to remain disease free.

 🫁   Pranayama is control and smooth flow of prana by the control of inhalation and exhalation through yoga exercise. 

  🫁  This exercise done through proper regulation of inhaling, holding the breath and exhaling.

 🫁   You can do Pranayama practice with several of the Asanas ( Postures)  for improved benefits. 

 🫁   By proper practice of pranayama all disease are eradicated. 

 🧘‍♂️  Some instructions for proper practice of pranayama and types 

🫁   A good place,  suitable time and moderate food is necessary. 

🫁   One should not attempt in crowd,  a capital city, in a forest but the place should be calm and clean. 

🫁  One should start practicing pranayama in vasanta and Sharad ritu. If you start in other season it leads to illness.

 🫁  Ideal time to perform pranayama are morning, Mid afternoon,  evening and Mid night. 

 🫁  During the first stage of pranayama one should take food consisting of Milk and Ghrit.

 🫁   Consume food in moderate quantity. 

 🫁    Eat Rice, Barley,  Wheat bread,  Green gram,  Black gram Etc. 

 🫁    Eat green leafy and fresh vegetables.

 🫁    Half of the stomach should be filled with food, one quarter with water and one quarter should kept empty for practicing pranayama. 

 🫁   Avoid eating Spicy ( Katu),  Sour ( Amla),  Salty ( Lavana)  Roasted things. 

 🫁   Avoid Curd,  Alcohol,  Over ripened Jack fruit, pumpkins,  Berries,  vegetable stems, Gourds Etc. 

🫁  Kumbhakabheda,  Surya bhedana,  Ujjayi,  Sheetali,  Shitkari,  Bhastrika,  Bhramari, Murccha, Plavini are some types of pranayama.

🫁  One can perform according to disease or on regular basis after knowing proper posture and Rules of this pranayama. 

🧘‍♂️ How to do pranayama ? 

 🫁  Sitting in Padmasana (  lotus pose   ) posture and then fill the air ( Puraka)  through left nostril ( close right nostril with thumb)  and then close the left nostril with Ring finger and hold breath for some time ( Kumbhaka)  .

Basic method for pranayama

🫁  After that exhale the air slowly through the Right nostril ( Rechaka). 

🫁   Then drawin the air through the Right nostril slowly then perform Kumbhaka ( Hold the breath for some time)  as told you earlier and exhale through the left nostril. 

🫁   By practicing alternatively, the whole of the collection of Nadi ( Subtle Nerves)  become clean, free from impurities after three months and over.

🫁    Pranayama tones up the stomach, the liver, the bladder,  the small and large intestines and digestive system. 

🫁     Removes the sluggishness from the body and kindles gastric fire. 

🫁     Constant practice of pranayama strengthen the nervous system. 

🫁     Mental disturbances like Anxiety, Stress,  Fear,  Lust for sex, Disappointment and other mental problems can calm down and one can capable of concentration. 

🫁     Regular practice of pranayama rouses spiritual power. Induces good and sound sleep. 

🫁     Pranayama helps a person to remain positive always and negative thinking comes to an end. 

🫁     If one can practice pranayama on regular basis. He / she requires less breathing per minute that helps to live a long and healthy life. Like a tortoise it take 5 breath per minute and lives for 400 year.
